Australia must renew its efforts to secure Sean’s release

Australia must do more to support pro-democratic forces and secure the release of all political prisoners in Myanmar, writes Melissa Crouch from the University of New South Wales.

Sean Turnell has been held by the military junta for over 18 months. The Australian Foreign Minister, Penny Wong, rejected last week’s court hearing and called for Sean’s immediate release.
